Opening Day Bow Season Ohio...

Well to be honest the opening day of Ohio's archery season didn't start out the way in which we had planned. We arrived safely to our Union County hunting land to see 9 deer the night before as we set up camp. We had several severe thunder storms (I thought we were back in Alabama with a hurricane!) and sleeping (not really sleeping) through the high winds caused us to get in the woods late.
Once we did get in the woods I was the only one who saw deer. I saw two far off in the woods and I had a little yearling come in at about 60 yards. I did have a score-able 8 pointer come within about 80 yards of a stand I sat in during the afternoon hunt but he didn't come any closer.
Sunday afternoon Jamey joined us and we had the Converse Boys back together again for a hunt. It wasn't the same since Jamey wasn't with us on opening day as he had a football game (in which they won 28-14 to go 5-1 on to he year!)
So now we set our sites on the upcoming weeks to be able to fill our deer tags as well as our memories with some exciting things that will take place during the 2006-2007 Deer Season!
